2012 Sandy Hook Massacre

Days before I woke up to the news of Sandy Hook, I was obsessed with Woody Guthrie's '1913 Massacre'. I rewrote the lyrics and syncopated the music, generally screwed it all around . Sandy Hook changed all of that. I wanted to take a terrible event in history and give it a modern twist. I was not wishing for the subject matter that i dropped 1913 Massacre for. There are tinges of songs and familiar chord structures lining this song. I felt it too early to release this song initially but this is how i communicate so i released it among the onslaught of media coverage, mass confusion and devastation of the moment.
